I have never thought about that, Sarah. What insight you have! I am also reminded of the bride and her maids waiting with oil in their lamps for the bridegroom. We have to be ready, even if there is nothing for us to "do" at the moment. This weekend has been full of reminders on this topic. It is amazing how God speaks to us that way, isn't it?

I really appreciate that because I do have such a strong desire to stay close to God through all seasons of life. I need to remember that worship is not just singing in church on Sunday morning but doing all things for Him and to His glory - that can mean everything from changing a diaper to cooking dinner if I have the right attitude and mindset. I want to make the most of this season. I realize when I see my friends' children entering preschool soon that this time is going to go by really quickly!

I am really looking forward to joining you girls on this journey. I have a feeling it will be such a blessing to all of us -and I could really use some structure and accountability for my quiet times.

What a wonderful post! We all do go through different seasons in our life. However, just as the necklace, we need to cling to the fact that God is with us every step of the way. I wanted to let you know that I am beginning a "Good Morning Girls" group for accountability in our Bible study and prayer time. I have two other friends/bloggers that are going to do this with me so far and would love to have you be apart. Head over to my blog and let me know if you are interested in being a part.

As I read your post I felt a complete sense of understanding... I know exactly how that feels. I'm right there with you. Life just seems so "full" right now and I wonder if I will ever get back to that spiritual passion I once treasured.

But then I read Barbara's comment and it made me smile (thanks Barbara!). I think she's right. Life is a series of seasons and all will be used for different purposes. Maybe this time in our lives is a nose-to-the-grindstone season. It's surely no excuse to not spend time with God, but I do believe He understands all the millions of thoughts and tasks in a young mother's mind.

There are periods in the Bible where hundreds of years go by without a single thing written. And even the life of Jesus omits 30ish years of records. Could it be that during these times everyone was just sort of going about doing the day to day life while God prepared them for the "important" moments? Sometimes I forget that while characters such as Noah lived for hundreds of years, yet his story equates to just a few chapters in the Bible. So perhaps we don't need to beat ourselves up for the times when our passion seems to lull. Be still. Wait on the Lord. And we'll be sure to be ready to say yes when God calls us to build an ark.

Remember ,God knows what is in your heart.
You are living through one of the most productive times of your life. Sure ,you are overwhelmed ,at times, you are like a juggler juggling with both hands and your feet at the same time. The first year of a Baby's life is one of the hardest ,but most fulfilling times and especially ,the way you are doing it .Staying at home with him.None of that will ever be wasted, but it is a huge investment. And you are still cooking ,cleaning ,bringing in money ,making your Husband happy ,and spending time with family and friends.

To everything there is a Season. This is your season of being the Mother of a young baby, and a loving wife. Your special relationship with God is not gone,it is there any time you need it. Just keep you Faith and God will tell you when.God made you Human ,not Superwoman
