My Beautiful Mom {And Micah}

A little over a week ago, I took some pictures of my mom with Micah to use for her birthday invitations. She is turning 50 in a few weeks, but you would never know it by looking at her! Isn’t she beautiful? She will die when she reads this because she is so humble, but I have always admired her beauty and when I was little I loved to watch her get ready in the mornings. Sometimes she would give us “makeovers” when we were little. We had a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing all the things she does with my kid(s) as they grow up. Though, I”m hoping she doesn’t put makeup on Micah, because that would be weird. (Ha! Ha!)

Shopping Alone

Eric and I are working on the basement again. This time we are transforming one half of the basement into… it’s a surprise! (If you know, don’t tell!) The project has required me to do a lot of shopping for supplies and details that will make this room a comfortable and fun place to…. well that would ruin the surprise, wouldn’t it?

On Saturday, my lovely husband hung out with the little dude the entire day! I was able to run into a store and back out without fiddling with a car seat or finding a cart that doesn’t have a broken seat belt. I was able to grocery shop without hiding the bananas because someone can’t wait until we get home. Nobody threw a tantrum while I mulled over carpet samples and bolts of fabric. I wore high heels with my jeans! I had so much fun. And when I got home, I covered Micah with kisses because his car seat looked so empty the whole ride home.

Summer

I feel like the summer is trying to run away from me. How can it be August already? I have a list of things I want to do this week that I can only do when it’s warm, so we’ll see how that goes. We have enjoyed summer so far. There are so many things about this time of year that I love.

I love…

Sand babies and saggy diaper butt after a fun swim….

I love watermelon faces…

And kisses from my sissie by the pool….

And freckles, sun tan lines, sweet tea, the smell of sunscreen, hot dogs and s’mores, grass between my toes and a little baby running around in his diaper all day.

And I must say, summer is way more fun when you can stay home and enjoy it instead of being inside at your J-O-B. Yay for teachers and stay-at-home-mamas and grandmas who get to enjoy it! I think everyone should get summer vacation…
